During the day he did not move very much in the shade to conserve water and minimalize movement. The temperatures reached over a hundred degrees every single day he was there and at night the temperature plummeted to a bone chilling forty degrees. With the fear of deadly snakes and scorpions most of the nights Less stayed in the safety of the truck, and who would not in their right minds. At one point he suffered from over heating and the decision to use some water to cool off his neck was a big decision and even life threatening that I am sure he was  over exaggerating a tad but other than that he did it himself. He made scorpion traps with jars and roasted those unattractive bugs on a skewer, sucked on some sort of root that contained moisture to stay hydrated because after the fourth day he had ran out of water.

This show is a great reality check of what people would probably do if they were stranded some where. Not like Bear Grylls who climbs mountains and jumps into rivers from cliffs and then goes back to his hotel. Less sticks it out without a camera crew and does what a normal sane not looked after by a “camera safety crew” would do in a scary unfamiliar situation that Less puts himself into. Yes it may be less entertaining but what I like about it is that its the real deal, no jokes.

In this episode the father was diagnosed with sleep apnea, and diabetes. What is very suprising is that he took it as if the information was just apart of the routine and doctors giving diagnosis that would be upsetting to a lot of people did not upset him as much because he wants to live a happy life with his wonderful family.

His wife was shocked, but she was supportive and was trying to get him on track with testing his blood sugar levels. This is a very revealing, uplifting, stereotype breaking kind of show that shows americans the non norm, but it really shows that their lives are as normal as ours.

I remember being told that I was in a poker room within weeks of my birth, being that my father used to be a decent poker player and made a pretty nice living before he met my mom, who is and was a casino dealer for multiple casinos around southern california and was named the Queen of Normadie in the hay days of Poker in the 1980′s. My mother was not going to have a “gambler” for a husband, or to her in her eyes poker was gambling, but to my dad it was his life and more than a game of chance. dutifully my dad decided to give in and start practicing law with his law degree that he had gotten years before.

I am nineteen years of age right now and I have been flipping through poker books recently  and something clicked for me. My whole life I have never really realized what I wanted to do after college, or had any set goals after getting into college. My dreams have always have been big but always with intent of starting my own business to make it to “the good life”. Through out my childhood I never really wanted to be one of the stereotypical choices that many children choose for example fire man, police office, pilot, doctor, or famous. I did not worry about my career choice because I knew when it did hit me on the head I would know, and I am and will be focusing my attention on poker for a while and if its not what I am looking for, I am still young. If I do make it to the WSOP when I am 21 I will be the youngest in poker history to win the WSOP tournament in Vegas. I have the background, I am willing to learn, and now I have a goal to focus on.

What this has to do with media is that poker has really blown up in these last couple of decades because of the exposure it is getting on ESPN, NBC, and even MTV had a show on addicted gamblers who could not stop. When the first WSOP began there were maybe a few hundred applicants, now recently there has been an influx of thousands entering, in 2008 there were over 8,000 tournament players with their sights on WSOP bracelet which is pretty bad ass if should say so my self.

So look for my name In a couple of years, I might be sitting across from some of the greatest players in the world like. And then I too will be apart of media.

Paquaio on the other hand is fighting and has been fighting his way up the weight classes. through out his career he has helped many people in his home land of the Philippines and gives a lot back to his community. In general Pacquaio appears to be a very respectful and honorable man. I believe that people in these positions with many followers and fans should promote a clean and respectful calm image and thats what the Pacman brings unlike the cursing,lying, question dodging Floyd.

This product I believe is geared towards students who always want to loosen the weight of their bags, Business owners who need a easier way to do bigger things, and to anyone who needs a computer, music, calendar, Internet at their finger tips without spending the big bucks. The pricing is very reasonable on this new and up coming item $500, $600, and $700 are going to be the pricing options and I am assuming that its an increase of memory. None the less this item will definitely be on my birthday wish list or possibly I will decide to wait for the bugs to get all figured out, because I had bought the first generation I pod and it had broken many. many times.

Another Survivor kind of show that I enjoy is Survivorman with Les Stroud. This show seems more realistic in that instead of a camera crew following and helping Les, he is usually left by himself in the jungle or where ever the adventure is, making it more real and alone. Les has to do all the filming, making it more difficult because of the constant trekking back and fourth to get the shots of him walking. The down side of Les’s show is that its kind of slow, and predominately stationary in one spot and not a lot of action probably because of the higher danger of  being alone. Bear Grylls on the other hand is climbing mountains fighting posionous snakes and crossing croc infested waters.

I honestly like both, because Bear Grylls show is entertaining and awesome to think that if I was in a similar situation I could pull some of the same stunts that he does. But when I watch Survivorman it pulls me back to reality and shows what I really mostly likely would do if I was stranded somewhere, I would stay in one spot, not running in the jungle like the Bear.

I have recently noticed that I can bump into someone that I have met before perhaps even three or four times with them knowing my name and I not knowing theirs. This might not seem strange,  a lot of people are not very good with names but when its like a classmate that you sat next to for a whole semester and you forgot his or her name because you thought you would never see them again and the next semester you see them and there’s that awkward moment before one of you picks up the courage to recognize the other person. This is where my mind goes completely blank and I cannot, for the life of me remember that persons name but I can pull it off most of the time with a “hey, hows it going?” and quickly change the topic so names don’t have to be exchanged again but thats what screws me up the most because the next time I meet the same person I didn’t get their name.

I guess the point is that I can remember the catchy commercial jingle but no ones name. If I ever meet you, again I did not mean it, I just forgot.

This needs to be addressed with a quick reaction to help with no lolly gagging. This country needs help is all I am saying, they really could use anyone’s support no matter where you are in the world.
